I'm currently a junior at the University of Oklahoma, majoring in International Area Studies and minoring in French.

Experience

I have 7 nephews and 3 nieces, all different ages (ranging from elementary to high school). I've found that I really enjoy helping kids learn new things, and helping them understand concepts and lessons they're struggling with. I've won several awards and scholarships for my essays, I'm currently writing a novel, and I've taken more than a few college level French courses. I can confidently and effectively teach beginner level French to new students of the language. I excel at teaching reading comprehension and writing, at all skill levels. I live for the "lightbulb" moments - it's all about making a difference!

I'm mainly focused on school and finishing my degree. I play guitar, enjoy going to local events like art shows, festivals, concerts, etc. I enjoy reading in my free time, anything from books to articles on current events. I'm one of the youngest of 6 children, so patience is definitely my strong suit. I believe that positive reinforcement and a good attitude can really define the way a child responds to new stimuli - but patience is key. While I take my studies seriously, I can also be a goofball and I love to make people laugh. In my tutoring, I strive to create a happy, safe, and open atmosphere.
