EducationI graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in History and a minor in Geography and Spanish with a GPA of 3.7. I have also spent time in Central America studying Spanish. I'm currently enrolled as a second year Master's student in cultural geography at the University of Oklahoma.
ExperienceI believe that the social sciences are important for all students to understand and can be fun. I have taken many hours in history mainly in American and Latin American history, but I have taken required classes in European and Chinese history as well. I have taken courses in physical and economic geography. My Spanish classes at the University of Missouri have focused a lot on Spanish literature, but I have recently returned from six weeks of field work in Mexico and have spent two months in Guatemala studying Spanish with a focus on grammar as well as culture and history. All of these subjects have required advanced writing skills. I am also proficient in historical research in which I have had a semester-long internship. I have really honed my teaching skills over the past year employed by they OU as a teaching assistant for physical geography.
HobbiesI really enjoy hiking and swimming. I love being outside, but really appreciate funny movies and reading. I know quite a bit about sports and love to play most of them. However, my greatest passion is food and cooking, and I believe everyone can have fun in the kitchen.

Maggie is doing such a great job tutoring my son for his Spanish credit requirement. She has helped him understand where the college professor was failing. We couldn't be happier with her and plan to continue the relationship until finals this semester, and for his next required Spanish credit if she is still available! Very happy to be working with this young lady!
