Private tutor in Norman, OK
Education
Junior Mathematics Major at the University of Oklahoma
Experience
I have tutored mathematics, writing, and test preparation since high school. I have now tutored college-level mathematics for two years. I received a 33 on my ACT. I was also selected as the state champion in the Oklahoma Masonic Lodge senior essay contest, a contest in which over 2,000 students participated. I had a paid reporting internship with the Oklahoma Daily in the summer of 2013. I worked for the campus section of the newspaper. For me, tutoring is an ideal activity, as I wish to be a professor someday. I have had to overcome many academic difficulties, and being able to help others who now have these same difficulties is very rewarding for me. For example, when I first learned mathematics, I was very bad at it, and I did not like it. However, in high school, I had an outstanding math teacher who brought out my potential and inspired me to major in mathematics in college. In high school, I was the captain of my school's academic team. We went undefeated in my senior year and won the state championship.
